An update… this morning I have closed the Little

An update… this morning I have closed the Little Science Co @etsyuk shop, so you can no longer purchase from there. I posted on Instagram and Twitter about this, and then got a flurry of orders on the website (thank you!). I’ve completely ran out of packing boxes and badge backing cards - you have surprised me so much with how many orders you’ve placed! - so I’ve ordered more boxes and badge backers, and they’ll be here this week.

With this in mind, I’ll be leaving the website open for orders until Friday 26th August.

I’m off to see my Mum and my Grandad for a few days now, so will pack and post all outstanding orders when I get back on Friday night. Thank you again, your support has been incredible and I’m so thankful to all of you 💛

The last Little Science Co launch 🥳😟 what a mix of emotions! I LOVE these pins so much, and I’m very happy for these to be my last launch, it feels like they encompass me and what I’m usually shouting about 😂
These are now available on the website (littlescienceco.com), and will be there until we close our doors for good on August 22nd. I’m going to keep the social media pages up because I may still post from time to time, and because I’m already been talking and thinking about what’s next in terms of a creative outlet for me. It won’t be for a little while yet, but I’m hoping the next project will be a partnership with my mum, something we can work on and grow together, so that’s it’s more manageable for me to work alongside my job. So yea, keep following if you’d like to know what’s next, I’ve loved this little community for years and you wonderful people have taken my breath away with your support. Thank you, thank you 💛

Over the last few months I've bèen thinking about my priorities, how I want to spend my time, and what I want to achieve in the next few years. I have come to the decision
that the business needs to close to allow me to build the life that I really want.
I know this will come as a disappointment to lots of you, and I'm sorry about that. For 5 years
I have loved this business and the community that we have built from it, and now I want to close on a high - with this community strong,
and showing people that science is for everyone.

You have brought me so much happiness, thank you for your support over the years. 💛

Morning team, happy Monday. I’ve been pretty abs

Morning team, happy Monday. I’ve been pretty absent from Little Science Co social media the last week or so, and I just wanted to pop on to let you know why. Brutally, I am at capacity. My full-time job is busy at the moment, I’m working to get papers written, new projects started and existing projects moved forward, and students feeling supported and comfortable. I’m also hoping to apply for promotion in the next few months so that’s another thing on my list. Alongside work, I have some family stuff going on that is worrying me, so social media has not been my priority. I’m still posting out orders - usually twice a week on a Wednesday and a Saturday, so the business is running as normal. Thank you for your support, and please look after your mental health - saying you need to drop something or put it on the back burner for a while isn’t a failure 💛

As always, the Zoom slots are completely free to attend, and are open to everyone - perfect if you’re aiming to read more this year.

It’s no longer Autism Acceptance Month (seriousl

It’s no longer Autism Acceptance Month (seriously, where did April go?!), but I’m going to continue sharing autism and neurodiversity-related content because this isn’t just a one month a year necessity. Today we have a new guest blog post from Ellie Granger, who you may know from @purple_neurodiversity_club. Ellie talks about growing up throughout school and being ‘the weird kid’ before ultimately being diagnosed with autism fairly recently.

I loved this quote in particular; “I think about autism as a bit like fingerprints; no two people’s experience of autism will be the same.” I just thought it was a lovely way to frame being autistic - lots of us that are not autistic don’t know what it’s like, but understanding that being autistic is an individual experience is so important. We can never assume how someone feels or interprets a situation, that’s why it’s so important to create inclusive, welcoming environments wherever we are, so that autistic people and others can be confident and safe in voicing their needs.
